In contrast to ordinary LCD televisions, which use cold cathode fluorescent bulbs to illuminate the screen, LED televisions employ light-emitting diodes (LED) to illuminate the screen. Officially, LED TVs are referred to as LED-backlit LCD TVs.
An LED is a semiconductor device that, when an electric current is supplied through it, creates visible light. Although the light is not particularly intense, it is often monochromatic and occurs at a single wavelength in LEDs. LEDs need substantially less power than fluorescent lights, convert energy into light more effectively, lose less energy as heat, and focus more tightly, resulting in less light leakage, which can result in blurring. Furthermore, LEDs outlive the majority of traditional lighting systems.
About Amazon TVS LED
There are three different LED technologies used. The most widely used of the three is edge-lit LED, where white LEDs are located around the edge of the screen, and a diffusion plate is used to light the screen evenly. Edge-lit LED displays can be fragile. Another type is the dynamic RGB LED, placed behind the board.
The RGB LEDs make it possible to target areas for dimming more precisely, resulting in more realistic black-and-white reproduction. In the third type of display, full matrix LED, the LEDs are placed behind the panel like with RGB LED displays, but there is no localized dimming capacity.
Quantum dot-based LED displays, in the research phase, are expected to enable LED TVs that rival plasma in picture quality and perhaps even OLED.
LG, Panasonic, Philips, Proscan, Samsung, Toshiba, and Vizio are some of the companies that sell LED TVs.
Pros: Use less energy and produce less heat than other Plasma TVs or LCD TVs. RGB LED: Brighter, more apparent screen and better contrast ratio than other LCD TVs. Edge-lit LED: A slimmer profile.
Cons: More expensive than other plasma or LCD TVs.
